Hike Dorset’s Rachel Batz will be guiding a hike to Dorset Peak on Friday, July 28. Reaching 2,820ft, Dorset Peak is the summit of Dorset Mountain and part of the Taconic Range. Dorset Mountain houses the largest underground marble quarry in the world. Come discover what makes this geological region so special and learning the flora and fauna of Smokey House Center along the way.
This hike is strenuous; come prepared with plenty of water and snacks, good hiking shoes and appropriate clothing/bug spray. Plan on the hike lasting 3-4 hours. Meet at the Smokey House Center parking lot at 2pm.
