Lecture on COVID-19 Vaccines
Tuesday, February 9 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm via Zoom
Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes Ricki Lewis, a science writer with a PhD in genetics, to talk about COVID-19 vaccines. There are concerns the winter months will continue to see spikes in COVID cases, and yet progress is being made. With a vaccine now available, questions arise. How safe and effective is it? And for how long? When and how is it being distributed? This talk will explore the viral enemy and how the immune system responds. Also covered in this talk will be herd immunity, the FDA approval process for vaccines, and the types of vaccines and how they work. Registration for this talk is free, but must be made ahead so that the Zoom link can be sent. For more information or to register, please call 802-867-0111 or visit our website at greenmtnacademy.org.
