Supreme Shift: Ginsburg to Barrett and What It Means
Tuesday, January 12 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm via Zoom
Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes Albany Law School Professor Vincent Bonventre to talk about the recent shift on the Supreme Court. Following a blockbuster year at the Court, the death of liberal icon, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, triggered an extremely bitter, partisan process to fill her vacancy. Ginsburg’s departure reduced the liberal wing of the nine-member Court to just three Justices. By contrast, with the addition of President Trump’s third nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, the conservative wing has been expanded to six. This talk will explore some of the ramifications of this 6 to 3 conservative Justice majority. Registration is $15 per person.
